Parker Dewey is a platform that facilitates Micro-Internships, helping companies recruit college students and recent grads, while also providing on-demand support for busy professionals. By offering opportunities for Career Launchers to execute short-term, professional projects, companies can engage, assess, and recruit prospective candidates for full-time roles or summer internships, including those students who might not otherwise apply or get filtered out by traditional processes. As a result companies, improve hiring, diversity, and retention outcomes.
This approach works because busy professionals appreciate the immediate support from highly motivated college students on projects that would otherwise take them 5-40 hours to complete, and don’t require deep expertise in the space or access to sensitive information (eg content creation, lead generation, research, data cleansing, etc.). While not the best use of time for an experienced professional, college students and recent grads are excited complete these projects as a ways to demonstrate their skills, build relationships, and explore career paths. And given the structure of Micro-Internships, they are easy to use, there are no administrative or HR burdens, and there are no costs should a Micro-Intern get hired for an ongoing role. In fact, as a mission-driven organization, we love when this happens!
